A ten-command is the fundamental squad unit of randon cadets at Tentir and more generally in Kencyr forces. The unit consists, as the name indicates, of ten individuals; the unit is commanded by its ten-commander or "ten", assisted by a second-in-command referred to as "five".

In full-fledged forces, ten ten-commands are grouped into a unit called a one-hundred command, but at Tentir, no larger units are formed except for the grouping of all cadets in a particular House. The highest-ranked ten-commander in a house is designated the master ten and fulfils most of the responsibilities of a one-hundred commander without the rank, though the ultimate responsibility is held by the senior randon of that House.
